![]() There are two more enemies waiting to ambush you in the next room and two more further into the room behind some columns. Return to the room with the iron maidens and push forward. As long as you don’t save at Sester G, the enemies won’t respawn. I’d highly advise running back to the anvil to upgrade your weapon to +2, but it’s up to you. Once dealt with, return to the room they spawned in and loot the iron maiden on the right for another Quenching Acid! Yes. Take your time, and draw them back to the previous rooms if necessary. There is one regular enemy here, but two more large ones will appear behind him. ![]() The door here is locked, so head back to the left. Interact with it for a glimpse of futility. Head to the right and look for an iron maiden (coffin) leaning against the wall. Take them out and grab the items on the ground here. Two more small enemies will be waiting to ambush you. Once clear, proceed to the next intersection. Try to eliminate at least one of the little guys before the knight reaches you. Once he’s down, grab the scripture on the right and approach the next enemy but be wary of one more off to the left. Running attack, into an immediate harden, then roll away and wait for harden cooldown reset. The usual strategy works well again here. These guys hit hard and deal fire damage. When you get halfway up the left side, a new enemy will appear out of thin air. Don’t forget you can go back to grab weltcaps as often as possible from the first room. Head back to the fork and go left this time. This one lights enemies on fire after parrying them. There are a few different scriptures in the game, most of which have some effect after a successful parry. You also will have received a Scripture of Repent. Inside the tomb is an upgrade for the mace if you want to socket that in at the anvil. Backtrack into the previous room if need be. They can teleport a bit, use melee attacks, and create a fire AoE attack. As soon as you interact with the tomb, two new ghost enemies will appear. Attack the wall here just to the side of the doorway you just entered for Etching 5/17. Immediately after entering the room turn right. Stick to the right at the small fork and head down into a doorway. Then head through the doorway the knight came from in the back left. When the coast is clear, grab the items nearby. Try to let him come to you, as to not trigger the other two hidden enemies in the room. Take care of these first two and you will likely see a large knight enemy coming toward you from the opposite doorway. There are also two more enemies hiding further up on the left and right. In the first room, there is one enemy in plain sight with another just around the corner, hiding on your right. Afterwards, we will grab the other two shells and weapons and really start upgrading things to prepare for the other two, tougher dungeons. We will grab a few more quenching acids in here as well. This dungeon is the shortest and easiest dungeon of the three. Whichever weapon you prefer, upgrade it to +1 and continue into the dungeon. If you want to swap back to the Hallowed Sword, simply grab it from the statue, or use your Tattered Vestment item (which you need to max out familiarity with eventually anyway). When you’ve defeated Hadern, you can grab the Smoldering Mace. If you struggle at all here, try keeping your distance and hit him with a running attack and then harden immediately after until he strikes you, and then hit him with a single attack and roll away. When you’re ready for a fight, interact with the book next to the statue to trigger another fight with Hadern from the tutorial. I would recommend only upgrading one or two of the four weapons because I believe there are only 8-10 quenching acids available in the first playthrough, and you definitely want one of your weapons to reach +5. You could save the Quenching Acid for that if you prefer. However, if you’re not digging the sword, we are about to acquire the Smoldering Mace, which is a much longer range but slower attacking weapon. The sword has a good balance of speed and power, and Harros’ ability to harden more often and regain stamina quickly makes for a good playstyle. For the purposes of this guide, I will be using the Hallowed Sword and Harros Shell. I would recommend using the quenching acid at the anvil to upgrade your Hallowed Sword to +1. Always make sure to talk to Sester Genessa to trigger a checkpoint. At the entrance to each of the three temples, there will always be a Sester Genessa checkpoint, an anvil, and a statue with a new weapon.
